GEICO and Caliber Collision Centers donate vehicle to nonprofit benefiting homeless families

DALLAS, Mar 13, 2012 (BUSINESS WIRE) –GEICO and Caliber Collision Centers recently partnered their resources and talent to donate a refurbished van to Family Promise, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping homeless families transition to independent living. Representatives from the partnering organizations were on hand as the vehicle was presented to Family Promise at a recent event at Caliber Collision Center in Round Rock, Texas.

GEICO donated the vehicle while Caliber provided professional repair services. GEICO participated through the Recycled Rides program, an awareness project that encourages members of the National Auto Body Council (NABC) to refurbish and donate recycled vehicles to families in need in their communities.

“Transportation is a key to the success of Family Promise as they help provide important services to help homeless families get back on the road to independent living. I can’t think of a more worthy recipient of the vehicle,” said Jay Vaden, a GEICO auto damage manager who attended the ceremony and spoke on GEICO’s behalf. “We were glad to take part in this wonderful program that makes such a huge difference in the community.”
